Antwon, age 8, from Charleston’s East Side has wanted to go back to Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry ever since he visited with his first grade class on a field trip last year. On Friday, March 19th, he’ll get that chance, along with his family, to be a pirate, a princess or a grocer for the night.

The Junior League of Charleston, Inc. and the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry (CML) will host Free Friday Family Fest on March 19, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Lowcountry families are encouraged to come enjoy playtime in the Museum, arts and crafts, music by the SC Broadcasters and activities for the whole family. There will also be a host of activities outside on the promenade including jump castle, Kids in the Kitchen, Reading Soulmates, the Boys & Girls Club, Brain Awareness Week games and a special visit from Mr. Pig.

All guests receive FREE admission to the museum and dinner from Piggly Wiggly/Mount Pleasant. The first 150 families will also receive a complimentary pass for a return visit to the museum and a FREE spring-themed book.

Denis Chirles, Executive Director of the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry expressed his gratitude in being able to host these events saying, “Free Fridays are a great way for our community’s families to come together and celebrate the importance of playing and learning together. We are proud to partner with Junior League of Charleston to provide this community outreach opportunity to families who need it most.”

The mission of the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry is to spark the love of learning in all children ages three months to twelve years through interactive, interdisciplinary hands-on environments and experiences with the arts, sciences and humanities while fostering creative thinking and problem solving skills and a belief in their own potential.
