The Dining Room at Woodlands Inn expands menu Nationally acclaimed restaurant offers a la carte items
For Immediate Release, August 2009
The Dining Room at Woodlands Inn, South Carolina’s only Mobil Five Star restaurant and one of only 20 in the country, will begin serving a new, expanded dinner menu on Wednesday, August 5.
In addition to offering five- or seven-course tasting menus, Executive Chef Nathan Whiting will now also prepare nightly a la carte selections which are divided into five different sections: Preludes, The Fields & Vegetable Gardens, From Day Boats & Fishermen, All Natural Farms, and Artisanal Cheeses. The restaurant’s ever-changing dessert menu will continue to be overseen by Pastry Chef Caitlin Kelly.
The menu expansion provides new entry points for guests to sample the restaurant’s sophisticated style of New American cuisine, with individual item pricing ranging from $9 to $38. The menu at the Inn’s casual dining option, Pines, has also been expanded to include more items. Pricing ranges from $6.50 to $16.50.
Some of the new menu items include:
• House-made Ricotta Tortelloni “Primavera,” San Marzano Tomato Butter
• Chilled Hawaiian Blue Prawns, House-Made Hummus, Kanzuri Cocktail Sauce
• Coddled Maine Lobster, Thumbelina Carrot Mousseline, Zucchini, Vadouvan Emulsion
• Ribeye of Prime Beef, Pickled Porcini, Potato Puree, Red Wine Jus
The new menu does not affect the restaurant’s Chef’s Table dinners, which are served in the kitchen, nor the popular monthly wine dinners. The next scheduled winner dinner will be held on Tuesday, August 18 and focus on Pinot Noirs. The cost per person is $74.
Reservations at the Dining Room and Pines are available from Wednesday-Sunday. Call 843-308-2115 or visit www.woodlandsinn.com.
