Fundraising Iniatives Outlined For Family Circle Cup Official Charity - Center For Women

Carina Wealth Management and HGTV “Design to Sell” Star Terry Haas Partner in Fundraising Efforts

The Family Circle Cup recently announced the Center for Women (CFW) as its official charity beneficiary for the 2008 tournament, marking the third consecutive year of this partnership. The Center for Women will have a presence on-site and hold specific promotions, events, and eBay auctions designed to raise funds and community awareness for the important services they provide to women in the Charleston tri-county area. Carina Wealth Management and Home & Garden Television’s “Designed to Sell” star Terry Haas will participate in an array of fundraising initiatives to benefit the Center for Women during the Family Circle Cup. The Family Circle Cup will celebrate its 35th Anniversary April 12 - 20, 2008 at the Family Circle Tennis Center in Charleston, S.C.

Carina Wealth Management, a financial services provider and investment planning company located on Daniel Island, has signed on as a sponsor partner with the Family Circle Cup for the 2008 event. In support of the tournament’s official charity, Carina Wealth Management will provide special commemorative wristbands adorned with Center for Women branding to fans, volunteers, tournament staff, and Sony Ericsson WTA Tour players during the Sunday, April 20th Family Circle Cup championships in recognition of the Center for Women’s contributions to the Charleston Tri-county area. In addition, Carina Wealth Management will make a monetary donation in the amount of $2,200 to the Center for Women’s general operating fund.

Terry Haas, star of Home & Garden Television’s (HGTV) “Designed to Sell,” will also partner with the Center for Women making several on-site appearances in addition to donating her professional home staging expertise to raise funds for the Family Circle Cup’s official charity. Haas, who recently moved to Daniel Island, will appear at the Center for Women tent on Sponsor Row for a special meet-and-greet and autograph session for fans at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16. She will also make special a guest appearance at the Center for Women Luncheon scheduled from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 17 in the Family Circle Sky Suite atop the third tier of Family Circle Magazine Stadium. Haas will donate her specialty home staging services to the lucky winner of a raffle to be held at the Center for Women luncheon, as well as the winner of an eBay auction with all proceeds supporting this important charity.

Tournament Program Sales
CFW volunteers will sell official Family Circle Cup tournament programs, which come with a complimentary official tournament poster commemorating the 35th anniversary of the Family Circle Cup, in several locations throughout the site during the nine day event. A percentage of the gross sales revenue benefits the Center for Women.
Center for Women Luncheon

This special luncheon buffet, catered by Charleston Place, will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, in the Family Circle Sky Suite. Special Guest, Terry Haas from HGTV’s “Designed to Sell,” will share her home-selling secrets at the luncheon and be available for questions from guests in attendance. She is giving away her home staging services to one lucky winner in a raffle at this event. This new fundraising initiative includes a wide variety of eBay auctions where buyers can bid with confidence as each autographed item comes with a letter of authenticity signed by Robin Reynolds, Family Circle Cup Tournament Director. Auction items include: “Photo with the Champion;” “Front & Center” courtside seating package; On-Court Photographer Credentials; a Box Seat ticket package; “Winning in Doubles” Luncheon tickets; the Family Circle Magazine Stadium court net autographed by the 2008 champion and finalist; a giant tennis ball signed by the tournament’s Top 8 seeds; a can of three match-used balls from the finals autographed by the champion and finalist; and a personal home staging consultation with HGTV’s “Designed to Sell” star Terry Haas.
