Inn at Middleton Place Named in "Zagat-Top U.S. Hotels, Resorts and Spas 2009"

The Inn at Middleton Place has been listed in Zagat's Top U.S. Hotels, Resorts and Spas 2009 publication. This is the first year The Inn at Middleton Place has been listed.
The Inn is described as having the "best of Mother Nature's Creations along with unique architecture at this serene Inn on the Ashley River that's a perfect mix of the modern and the traditional...." The Inn is one of only 7 other properties listed in the Charleston area, included with the five star Wentworth Mansion and Woodlands Resort.
The 2009 Zagat guide covers 1,001 properties and chains in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Like all their guides, this one is based on the collective opinions of avid consumers. Input from 14,049 frequent travelers and travel professionals form the basis for the ratings and reviews in the guide. According to Zagat, this book "marks our 30th year reporting on the shared experiences of consumers like you. What started as a hobby has come a long way. Today we have over 350,000 surveyors and now cover airlines, bars, dining, entertaining, fast food, golf, hotels, movies, music, resorts, shopping, spas, theater and tourist attractions in over 100 countries."
Travel & Leisure acclaims that the Zagat Guide "...tell(s) it like it is". The Inn at Middleton Place won a coveted spot in Travel & Leisure in 2001 as one of their "Top Ten places to go Next", as well as being recognized in 2008 by National Geographic Traveler's (NGT) first-ever, annual "Stay List". The April 2008 issue's "Stay List" celebrates 150 hotels in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean region that are among the best at blending location-inspired architecture, ambience and amenities,
eco-stewardship and an ethic of giving back to the community.
The Inn at Middleton Place is located adjacent to Middleton Place National Historic Landmark - home to America's Oldest Landscaped Gardens, the Plantation Stableyards and House Museum.
