The Summerville Family YMCA is excited to announce the date for their 4th Annual Oyster Shindig which will be held on Friday, November 20 at Pine Forest Country Club.
The Shindig is sponsored in part by BB&T.
The Oyster Shindig is a family-oriented fundraiser started by the staff of the YMCA four years ago. This year’s event will focus on celebrating the end of the YMCA’s annual support drive, the Strong Kids Campaign. Linda Walton, YMCA Development Director states, “It is important for the members of the YMCA, and the Summerville community, to understand that the YMCA is for everyone – no one is ever turned away based on their inability to pay. The Strong Kids Campaign, and the funds raised by the Oyster Shindig, will directly benefit our members and our programs that are being challenged financially.”
Folks will enjoy the tunes of the main entertainment, the East Coast Party Band, plus party-goers will also be able to have fun digging in the “Pearl Dive”. ($25 buys an opportunity to dig in the sandbox and win a prize). The event is 6:00pm until 10:00pm and tickets are $30/adult ($35 at the door) and $15/child ages 5-12. Children ages 4 and under are free. Oysters will be provided by Crosby’s Seafood and Charleston Outdoor Catering. Wings, BBQ and more will be catered by Sticky Fingers, plus desserts provided by Panera. A cash bar will be available.
Tickets are on sale now at the Downtown YMCA and also the YMCA at The Ponds, or they may be purchased by calling 871-9622 x 120. For more information about the event, please visit summervilleymca.org.
