Year-round events keep the Charleston area buzzing. Music and tempting aromas fill the air. Witness world-renowned performances at Spoleto, get a taste of our heritage at small town oyster roasts or discover the find of a lifetime at an antique show. With so many events taking place, you'd better mark your calendar now.
The Daniel Island community will showcase its civic pride and philanthropic spirit on Saturday, October 10 at its annual Park Day Festival.
Now in its ninth year, this “day of giving” has become a fall tradition not to miss! Live musical performances, arts and crafts, sailing, garden clinics, an oyster roast, educational wildlife exhibitions, dog activities and more are among the activities that will take place along the banks of the Wando River. Park Day is a day of outdoor family fun that visitors of all ages can enjoy!
Initially created in 2001 to bring Charleston residents and visitors together for a day of old-fashioned family fun, Park Day has since evolved into a community event that raises needed funding and awareness for a diverse collection of area service organizations and is now one of Charleston’s broadest scope charitable events. Since its inception, Park Day on Daniel Island has raised more than $150,000 for more than 50 local non-profit organizations. Thousands of Daniel Island and Lowcountry residents have participated throughout the years, enjoying a fun and beautiful Park Day along the banks of the Wando River, while also contributing to the Charleston community.
While admission and parking are free, some events will require a nominal fee in order to raise money for participating non-profit organizations. For more information on Park Day, visit www.danielislandparkday.com.
