Enjoy an adventure into the past on a two-hour history tour through the streets of Charleston. Founded in 1979, Charleston Strolls was the first daily walking tour in the city of Charleston. Our two hour history tour takes you where motorcoaches and carriages are not allowed, giving our guests an intimate glimpse into our historical city. As you walk through cobblestone streets and quaint alleys, past antebellum mansions and private gardens, Charleston Strolls immerses you into the most charming — and the best — city in the world.

Hear all about Charleston’s rich and colorful past — from stories about old Charles Towne from 1670 to the Civil War to present day. You’ll get historical highlights and behold famous and important landmarks, including Rainbow Row, the Battery, the French Quarter, and the Old Exchange Building. A visual tour of Fort Sumter will explain its role in the history of our country, while countless hidden gardens, courtyards, churches, and graveyards will serve as backdrops for an oral history of the city during the Revolutionary and Civil wars.

While offering the best walking history tour in town, we can also provide customized tour packages and event planning for corporate, private, and school groups. With years of expertise on Charleston attractions, venues, tours, restaurants, and adventures, the knowledgeable staff at Charleston Strolls can help create the best Charleston experience possible. No one is more familiar with the Holy City than Charleston Strolls. Contact us to inquire about daily tours, school group tours, or private tours.
