Trattoria Lucca Restaurant to Open DoorsFor Immediate Release, September 2008
Chef and owner Ken Vedrinski, of Sienna on Daniel Island, is proud to announce the grand opening of his newest restaurant, Trattoria Lucca. The restaurant, located in downtown’s Elliotborough area, will officially open its doors on September 18, 2008.
Trattoria Lucca plans to marry the Italian and Charlestonian dining traditions by placing special emphasis on home-made cuisine and using local ingredients. The restaurant will feature unique offerings such as a community table, which will allow locals to drop by without a reservation and for guests to mix and mingle. Lucca will also host Family Supper Sundays. The concept of Family Supper Sunday is such: every Sunday there will be two seatings for a pre-set menu. If your bowl is empty the Lucca family will fill it until you are forced to say, “Basta!”
Located on the corner of Bogard and Ashe street, the restaurant hopes to become a local favorite. “There has been a lot of anticipation about opening a restaurant in downtown Charleston. My focus was on creating a restaurant that embodies the essence of a trattoria: neighborhood clientele that feels like family, a warm, personal atmosphere, and great food inspired by the Italian region of Tuscany, where Lucca is located,” said Chef Vedrinski.
