Coastal Cigars Chosen for Celebrity Las Vegas Charity Event

CHARLESTON, S.C. - August 15, 2007 - Chris Webber, NBA star of the Detroit Pistons, hosted his 2nd annual C-Webb's Bada Bling Celebrity Weekend in Las Vegas, NV at Caesar's Palace July 20-22, 2007. Locally owned Coastal Cigars was in the middle of the action, providing their own Charleston-blended cigar brand, Carlos Villa, as well as their unique customized logo gift boxes in each VIP goody bag given to over 600 celebrity attendees and media.

The event attracted over 4,000 key influencers, top athletes and hip-hop singers from around the country. Nas, Slick Rick, Charlie Murphy, Zab Judah, Gabrielle Union, Regina King, Jackie Joyner Kersey, Kareem Abdul Jabbar and Moses Malone were among the many celebrities who attended.

Coastal Cigars also provided cigar tastings for VIPs at the celebrity golf challenge at world renowned Cascada golf club, celebrity poker tournament and the red carpet arrival Soiree, each with a starting ticket price of over $1000. "When I bought the company a year ago I had a vision for Coastal Cigars: to expand out of the local market to a regional and national level. This event was so exciting for us because of the caliber of people who tasted our cigars and took our business home with them," said Coastal Cigars CEO, Dave Brown.


Rhonda Penrice, an event producer for Bada Bling, found Coastal Cigars to be a perfect fit for the event. "We chose Coastal Cigars because we were looking for a young, hip, aggressively branded company that could handle all the needs associated with our event, and they delivered," said Penrice.


All 100% of the proceeds raised benefited the Chris Webber Foundation, a public nonprofit corporation which provides positive educational and recreational programs for youth, particularly those who are disadvantaged. They are devoted to providing scholarships, school incentives, books, toys, events, field trips, tickets, clothes and more to families across the country.
