The Broad Street Guest House has generated rave reviews from guests and the press. One Rabbi and his wife wrote in the B&B’s guest book after their stay:
“Your home is fantastic. Your hospitality is warm and gracious. You provide a gracious service to the world’s kosher community.”
Reviews in Charleston’s Post & Courier, SC Homes & Gardens Magazine and an Atlanta Jewish newspaper have all written favorably of the B&B.
Hadassah Rothenberg, innkeeper and owner of The Broad Street Guesthouse says:
“Charleston has been a wonderful destination for any traveler wanting to explore a beautiful and historic city and have an eye opening and hamisch (warm and friendly) Jewish experience.”
Keeping kosher or what is called Kashrut, is the body of Jewish law dealing with what foods can and cannot be eaten, and how those foods must be prepared. Hadassah takes special pride in her cooking, baking and service to guests. The glatt kosher B&B is under the supervision of the V’aad of Charleston’s Orthodox synagogue, Brith Sholom Beth Israel (BSBI) Congregation. Rabbi Sytner, the head rabbi of BSBI says: “I’m thrilled about the opportunity to expose Jews from outside of Charleston to our great community.”
The Broad Street Guesthouse is located at 133 Broad Street, which is a classic, beautiful Charleston home, originally built in 1875. It is conveniently located in Charleston’s downtown historic district. Hadassah has refurbished the house to maintain its Charleston charm. Each guestroom or suite offers unique furnishings and kosher kitchenettes.
