Children are invited to dress up their teddy bears and bring them, along with their parents, grandparents and friends, to the first Teddy Bear Picnic Oct. 11 in Hampton Park at 30 Mary Murray Drive in downtown Charleston.

The event is from 1-4 p.m. and there is no charge for admission. Children and families can spend the afternoon enjoying storytelling, face painting, seed planting and crafts. Sol Drive Train will perform songs from its Tajar Tracks album. Food will be available for purchase. The event will culminate with a parade showcasing the children and their teddy bears.
