Actors' Theatre of South Carolina and Chamber Music Charleston are bringing back to Charleston the highly acclaimed and engaging Christmas memoir of famous Welsh poet, Dylan Thomas for the holidays. "Dylan Thomas’ Christmas In Wales" is a dramatic performance of Thomas' 1955 beloved radio story A Child’s Christmas in Wales.

Thomas remembers the experiences of an old fashioned picture book Christmas, from snow ball fights and the delight of opening Christmas presents to singing carols in the village. It is a performance of humorous and poignant anecdotes of festive delights of long ago woven with live music. Veteran film, TV and Broadway star, Clarence Felder, portrays the author remembering his youth. He is accompanied by a trio of chamber musicians on flute, cello and violin playing arrangements of traditional carols by Sandra Nikolajevs. This prose-poem adventure will be both familiar and yet charmingly "far away" to today's audiences. Recommended for audiences 10 years and above.

Dates/location: "Dylan Thomas’ Christmas in Wales" at Circular Congregational Church, 150 Meeting Street, on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 22 and 23 at 7pm. Tickets: $17 general admission. Group rates available. Tickets are on sale now by calling (843) 763-4941 or online at www.ChamberMusicCharleston.org .
