“Southern Impressions”
Fern Loos Beu, an emerging artist from the Washington, D.C. area, will be showcased at the Hamlet Fine Art Gallery, 7 Broad Street on Friday, October, 2nd, from 5 to 8 pm during the French Quarter Art Walk.

Painting as a contemporary realist, her figurative and portrait work capture not only a likeness, but her subjects’ spirits and often, their unique stories. Her landscapes are similarly evocative and personal, most often painted from everyday sites, transforming the mundane into the beautiful.

Beu graduated with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Florida State University in 1980 and has spent 29 years working as a psychotherapist in the Washington, D. C. area. She has had several solo art exhibits in Bethesda, Md, along with an exhibit in Artomatic in Washington, D.C. She has studied with renown painters David Leffel and Abigail McBride.
