Charleston CVB Wins Big At HSMAI Destination Marketing Campaigns Garner Gold, Silver and Bronze
For Immediate Release, February 2010
The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association (HSMAI) honored The Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CACVB) with three prestigious Adrian Awards during its annual award ceremony held Monday, February 1 in New York City.
The CACVB won twice in the Marketing Program / Consumer category, receiving a Gold and Bronze Adrian Award for two campaigns, positioning Charleston as a top culinary and year-round destination, respectively. A Silver Adrian Award was also awarded to the CACVB in the Feature Placement Print / Consumer Magazine or Newspaper category as the result of an eight-page destination piece, which appeared in the April 2009 issue of ForbesLife magazine.
“This past year was without a doubt one of the most challenging for the entire industry,” said CACVB Executive Director Helen Hill. “With so many Americans reevaluating their travel plans, destination campaigns had to be smart, timely and effective. Not only are we pleased with the results, but also extremely flattered that our efforts have been recognized by our peers. It is truly an honor.”
The HSMAI is a global organization made up of more than 7,000 sales and marketing professionals from 25 countries. It represents all segments of the hospitality industry.
Now in its 52nd year, the Adrian Awards is recognized as one of the world’s most renowned and prestigious advertising, public relations and Web marketing competitions. This year’s awards attracted more than 1,300 global entries judged by experts from all sectors of the industry.
