CBS Survivor: China Couple Wins $80,000 Charleston, S.C. Wedding

The Charleston Area CVB, along with its partners, is pleased to announce the winning couple of the inaugural Charleston Wedding Giveaway. Jaime Dugan and Erik Huffman will receive a Charleston wedding valued at more than $80,000 The wedding will take place on April 4, 2009 at Wild Dunes Resort.

Jaime and Erik’s entertaining video submission caught the attention of celebrity judges who chose them to be among four finalist couples in contention for the grand prize. In mid-September, the public began voting online for their favorite couple. More than 35,000 people viewed the finalists’ videos and voted for the couple best suited to wed in Charleston.

Jaime and Erik first met as cast mates on CBS’s Survivor: China, even though they grew up only 20 minutes away from one another in upstate South Carolina. Their relationship blossomed after they returned to the United States. This past June, Erik proposed to Jaime on The Battery overlooking the Charleston harbor. Jaime and Erik now reside in Nashville, TN where Jaime devotes her time to helping women at Mercy Ministries, and Erik pursues his passion of making music in the rock band, Florez.

Three other couples will also enjoy a romantic getaway in Charleston. Wild Dunes Resort is giving each runner-up a two-night stay in a luxurious one-bedroom villa. The property will offer champagne for two upon arrival and a dinner at the resort’s Sea Island Grill. The Charleston getaway is valued at more than $1,000 and is the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion or simply relax for a weekend together.
