Capital BookFest Charleston: November 6, 2010
More than 60 writers, poets and children’s book authors will congregate in Charleston for a lively and informative day of storytelling, readings and panel discussions during the inaugural Capital BookFest Charleston, sister festival to the successful Capital BookFest in Washington. Headliners include Nikki Giovanni, Mary Alice Monroe, E. B. Lewis, Tananarive Due, Josephine Humphreys, Michelle Singletary, Victoria Rowell, Gary Smith, Sonia Sanchez and Margot Theis Raven. This free one-day event celebrates literature and promotes literacy in a family-friendly atmosphere with events at Marion Square, the Charleston Public Library and Gaillard Auditorium from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The first 1,000 guests will receive a free bag and copy of the children's book Indigo and the Garden City by JahSun & Donna Maria Smith. Weekend of Jazz at Kiawah Island Golf Resort: November 11 – 13, 2010
Seven-time Grammy-winning guitarist Earl Klugh celebrates the Lowcountry’s storied jazz scene as he brings his Weekend of Jazz to the Charleston area for the first time. Klugh will be joined by other noted musical talents, including the chart-topping group Fourplay, three-time Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum selling saxophonist Boney James, bassist and Golden Globe nominee Kenny Eastwood, Latin-jazz saxophonist and vocalist Jessy Y, and trumpeter-vocalist Joe Gransden. An Evening With Anthony Bourdain: November 12, 2010

8th Annual Blessing of the Vines: November 13, 2010
Nestled amid the marshes and moss-covered oaks on Wadmalaw Island, a picturesque barrier island located near Charleston, Irvin House Vineyards harvests sweet muscadine grapes, which are blended into five varieties of wine: Tara Gold, Palmetto, Magnolia, Mullet Hall Red and Live Oak Reserve.
