Marking the tournament’s 38th consecutive year and 10th year in Charleston, the Family Circle Cup, a Sony
Ericsson WTA Tour Premier event, will be held April 10-18, 2010 at the Family Circle Tennis Center in historic
Charleston, South Carolina.
The Family Circle Cup is known for its strong player fields as tennis stars descend on Charleston each April to
compete for one of the most coveted trophies in the sport. Keeping with this tradition, 18-year-old American
standout and 2009 US Open Quarterfinalist Melanie Oudin from Marietta, Georgia, was the first player to enter
the 2010 Charleston event.
