Built in 1763 this home is one of only fifteen homes belonging to those signers of the US Constitution to survive and the only one to now accommodate overnight guests. Located in the historic district of Charleston the inn is walking distance to Francis Marion Square – the site of the 2010 Wine and Food Festival. After enjoying all of the sites that Charleston has to offer, guests will begin their weekend on Friday (12:00-3:00pm) with tickets to a Wine tasting at Middleton Place Gardens. Shuttles will chauffeur patrons to Middleton Place where guests will captivate all of the senses as they stroll through the historic and charming gardens with a glass of wine in hand and taste assorted foods prepared by local chefs. On Saturday morning (10:00am-1:00pm) guests will enjoy the fantastic Culinary Village at Francis Marion Square where they will experience many samples of the finest food Charleston and the Southeast have to offer as well as taste wines from all over the country. On Saturday afternoon (4:00-6:00pm) guests will enjoy Winemaker Receptions in downtown historic homes enjoying the private homes while sampling wine and appetizers that will tickle your taste buds. After the reception a rickshaw will take you from the John Rutledge House Inn to AAA Four diamond and Mobile 4-star Circa 1886 Restaurant (www.circa1886.com) where executive chef, Marc Collins, who was instrumental in starting the festival, will treat guests to a three course dinner paired with wines. Sunday morning will prove to be one of the highlights of the weekend with tickets to the famed Sunday Gospel Brunch (11:00am-1:00pm). The Gastronome Package is limited in availability and is offered at a special rate of $1745.00 for two people. A deposit of 50% of the package price will be due at time of reservation. Cancellation is 14 days prior to arrival – any cancellations after this date will forfeit their deposit.
