YALLFest: Charleston Young Adult Book Festival

YALLFest will be held in downtown Charleston, S.C. on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11& 12, 2016.

Saturday begins with an opening keynote conversation between Victoria Aveyard (Red Queen) and Sabaa Tahir (An Ember in the Ashes), two bestselling authors who have quickly established themselves as strong, engaging voices in young adult fantasy.

Later, bestselling and beloved children's author Eoin Colfer will give a featured talk in the festival's midday spotlight. Colfer published his first Artemis Fowl book in 2001 and subsequently wrote seven more installments starring the eponymous 12 year old criminal mastermind.

To close the festival, authors Adam Silvera (More Happy Than Not), Nicola Yoon (Everything, Everything), and Julie Murphy (Dumplin') will huddle up for a rousing round table discussion on a range of topics, followed by the festival's famous (and infamous) YA Smackdown finale, which brings as many authors as possible on stage at the Charleston Music Hall for games, songs, and merrymaking.
