Women & Radiohead: A Tribute to Radiohead
Event Details
The Charleston Arts Festival and the Charleston Music Hall present a groundbreaking evening of Women & Radiohead: A Tribute to Radiohead. The band's 2016 release, "A Moon Shaped Pool," their first in 5 years, has been called "gorgeous and desolate" and "slow-motion psychedelia."
The "Women Series had drawn a diversity of Charleston's female vocalists to interpret each artist's hits in their own ways. What started with a tribute to gravel-voiced Tom Waits became a lauded musical series that went on to feature the works of Neil Young, David Bowie and Bob Dylan.
The series is the brainchild of local musicians Lindsay Holler and Hazel Ketchum, who perform and handpick the remaining roster of talent. Vocalists for the series will be announced soon, though a special feature of the Women & Radiohead show will be its supporting band, Entropy Ensemble.
The female vocalists for Women & Radiohead include:
Lindsay Holler
Hazel Ketchum
Zandrina Dunning
McKenzie Eddy
Jordan Igoe
Entropy Ensemble was formed in 2009 by Andrew Walker, Charleston Arts Festival's Founder and Creative Director. The group is known for performing original and existing instrumental music that blurred genres and highlighted the talents of its varied musicians. Walker will act as Women & Radiohead's Music Director, composing the evening in the vein of Radiohead's show's, paying strict tribute to their live music style of seamless performances.
