Sounds of the Holy City: Gospel Meets Jazz

This exciting concert featuring Lowcountry Voices, The Charlton Singleton Quintet, Karent Clark-Sheard and Blanche-Dykes will featuring the music and sounds of the Lowcountry.

Lowcountry Voices performs all genres of choral music with an emphasis on African-American music performed in the Low- country tradition. Lowcountry Voices was recently honored to provide the music for the services for the Honorable Reverend Clementa Pinckey.

Joining the choir will be The Charlton Singleton Quintet. Also, featured in the concert will be Karen Clark- Sheard, a four-time Grammy Award winning gospel singer, musician and songwriter. Additionaly, the concert will feature Blanche McAllister-Dykes. McAllister-Dykes musical gifts developed throughout her childhood as she sang with her family and in 2002 she began singing with Donald Lawrence where she had the opportu- nity to perform and record with some of Gospel music’s greats.
