Portrait Painting with Robert Maniscalco, Ages 14 & up

Time to dust off your fall calendar and make it the Season of Art! There's no better way to experience art-making than by taking a class (or two or three) at an art museum. Especially when that art museum is the newly renovated Gibbes! The Gibbes Museum has a long tradition of arts education, and thanks to our beautiful transformation, you can experience it firsthand in our fabulous on-site studios and classrooms.

We just put the finishing touches on our fall classes, and we can't wait to share the lineup. Channel your inner historian and take an art history class. Get your hands dirty and dig into our handbuilding clay class. Keep it classic with portrait-painting and palette-knifing. Go botanical with watercolors or stick to the basics. Finesse your drawing skills (at any level!) Brush up on your acrylics and oils. And don't forget the kiddos! Many of these classes are available for adults and teens. Or take advantage of our kids-only classes. Little ones can learn to think like an artist or create cartoon characters during two special Saturday workshops. And we're all excited to see young artists create dream journals inspired by Chagall's paintings (which by the way, you can see in person at the Guggenheim exhibition coming to the Gibbes in late October!)

Consult our website to view supply lists, to register online, and to stay posted as more offerings are added to our rich roster. All classes include admission to the Museum.

Sign up today, before the opportunity slips away. You may discover that the only thing better than viewing art on the walls is making art in the studios!
