Origins and Oddities
Event Details
Edmund’s Oast (1081 Morrison Dr.) is partnering with Westbrook Brewing Co. for “Origins and Oddities”—a night featuring rare and limited beers on Saturday, September 19, 2015 starting at 10:30PM. The event, one of the final events for Charleston Beer Week 2015, is a two faceted exploration of some of Westbrook Brewing Co.’s early influences as well as current day experimentations.
A limited number of tickets will be sold at $15 per person for “Origins” which features samplings for all of the remaining stocks of Edward Westbrook’s earliest test batches of beer—pre-dating the existence of the brewery. This includes some sour ales and potent imperial stouts and barley wines that have been stored under ideal conditions and are each between six and nine years old. There are some extraordinary bottled beers part of this mix and all will be poured until supplies run out to ticket holders.
For “Oddities,” patrons can purchase from a special menu featuring a variety of beers produced by Westbrook Brewing Co. They will all be experimental and/or exceptionally rare and limited. This will include selections on tap and from bottles. These beers will be available al la cart and no ticket is required to attend. Attendees must be over 21 to enjoy either tasting.
To fill the late night munchies, Chef Reid Henninger will offer $5 cheeseburgers, affectionately being called “sleazeburgers,” for the late night event. “Origins and Oddities” will only be available at the main bar starting at 10:30PM.
