Artist Statement: "COLOR BLOCK: Uniting Shape & Color is a collection of pieces that explores the interaction between unexpected color combinations and irregular shapes. As I created this body of work, my goal was to create a visual energy that would be specific to the viewer. By composing designs without any suggestion of representation, the viewer has a chance to connect with the painting in their own way. Almost a year in the making, this collection of work embodies the very idea that art is subjective." -Laura Dargan
