Event Details

All ages are invited to celebrate the arrival of summertime weather with some shag dancing on the Folly Beach Pier. On select Friday evenings, DJ Jim Bowers will keep your feet moving with the hottest oldies and beach music. Event hours are 7 – 11 p.m. Other upcoming Moonlight Mixer dates will be June 16, July 7, Aug. 18 and Sept. 15.

Admission purchased in advance is $8 per person; on-site tickets will be $10 per person (based on availability). Tickets are limited, so advance purchase is recommended.

Shaggers of all skill levels can bring a date or meet friends, let loose, breathe in the ocean air and dance the night away. Beverages will be available for purchase on site.

Locals who love to shag dance are also encouraged to attend the Mount Pleasant Pier’s Shaggin’ on the Cooper and Friday Night Boogie series. Shaggin’ on the Cooper events feature live music on select Saturday evenings, on April 29, May 13, June 10, July 15, Aug. 12 and Sept. 9. Friday Night Boogie will also feature DJ Jim Bowers, at the Mount Pleasant Pier on select Fridays, May 12, June 9 and July 14. In the event a Moonlight Mixer is canceled due to inclement weather, receipts will be redeemable for a ticket to another Mixer this season.
