Lowcountry Nosh: Charleston Jewish Food & Heritage Festival

To celebrate the 175th anniversary of KKBE’s historic sanctuary, the entire Charleston community is invited to eat, learn, play and enjoy at KKBE’s inaugural Lowcountry Nosh: Charleston Jewish Food & Heritage Festival.

Noon - 4:00pm

This festive event will feature a variety of traditional Jewish foods including corned beef, chopped liver, “imported” bagels, knishes, rolled cabbage prepared by the Temple Sisterhood and irresistible Jewish sweets.

Activities for children, tours of KKBE’s historic property and live entertainment will also be provided. Tickets will be sold to purchase food and enjoy activities. An outdoor stage will feature a mix of local artists. Confirmed acts include acclaimed violinist, Seth Gilliard (www.sethgmusic.com) who recently won third place in a nationwide YouTube music video contest hosted by Ryan Seacrest, and Charles Miller who played the organ during President Barack Obama’s rendition of “Amazing Grace” at the memorial for the Reverend Clementa Pickney. The hourly “Hava Nagila on Hasell” dancing celebration will be led by an eclectic mix of entertainers, including a steel drum band, a one-man band, and a ukulele player.
