Early Morning Bird Walks at Caw Caw
Our trek through many distinct habitats will allow us to view and discuss a variety of birds, butterflies, and other organisms. A paid chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under. Registration is not required.

Team Charleston Rec Programs: Comp. Programs Try Out
If you are not sure competitive rock climbing is for you, then try us out! Join in on a practice to see if Team Charleston's competitive programs are a good fit.

Family Climbing: Family Belay Lesson
Children ages 4-13 will climb while parents learn to belay. Children ages 14 and up can learn to belay as well as climb. A registered and paid chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under. Pre-registration required.

Yin Yoga
Poses are held for up to 4 minutes to allow participants to go beyond the physical benefits of yoga. Yin goes deeper than muscle to promote the release of stress from stretching and improve connective and fascia tissue. No previous experience needed. Yoga Therapy
This class uses easeful movement to increase flexibility and gain strength, breathing techniques for relaxation, and lifestyle tips to support participants in managing stress and common chronic conditions including high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and pre-diabetes. Baptist Hill Youth Co-ed Basketball
Program will concentrate on fun and skill development such as passing, shooting, defense/offense, rebounding, and teamwork. Involves league play for some age groups and will require some traveling. Pre-registration required.

College Days at the Climbing Wall
Climbing is a fun way to get into shape and to meet new people. It is also a great social activity. Students with a current ID will receive a free harness and shoe rental with the regular price of admission. Registration is not required.

Night Climbing
Enjoy an evening under the stars at The Climbing Wall! Try your favorite route from a different perspective. Equipment is not included in climbing fee. Bring your own headlamp/flashlight. Registration is not necessary.

Folly Beach Bird Walks: Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve
This walk focuses on the incredibly diverse northeast end of Folly Island. Hopefuls include Red-throated Loon and Piping Plover. A registered and paid chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under.

Nature Rambles: Looking Around Laurel Hill
Join a Master Naturalist instructor to see the natural wonders of our parks in a new light. You'll discover plants and animals and learn about their connections to the world around them. Registered chaperone required for ages 15 and under. Pre-registration required.

Introduction to Climbing: On Belay! Intro to Belaying
Stack the odds in your favor from the beginning by learning how to belay the right way with proper safety procedures and good habits. This clinic is tailored for first time climbers and people wanting to learn about starting rock climbing. Pre-registration required.

Introduction to Climbing: Climbing Technique Tune-Up
When gravity has you down, lift yourself up with a technique tune-up! Topics will include proper or improved footwork, increased use of the skeletal system versus using pure muscle, and pump management techniques with creative resting. Pre-registration required.

Folly Beach Bird Walks: Seawatch
Help experienced birders scan the ocean for a variety of ducks, seabirds, and shorebirds. We hope to see “bunches” of Red Knots, “rafts” of scoters, and much more. A chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under.

James Island Bird Walks
Birding experts will help identify and count songbirds, birds of prey, wading birds, and others found in the park's diverse habitats. A registered and paid chaperone is required for participants ages 15 and under.

Photography Series: Sunrise Session
Awaken your senses to the natural and cultural world while stretching your photographic eye. Bring your camera and let a park naturalist lead you to inspirational locations. Registered chaperone required for ages 15 and under. Pre-registration required.

Unveiling McLeod Plantation Historic Site: Farming and Foodways
During fall and winter, cold weather crops were harvested, spring crops were planned, and fields were prepared. Explore how residents of McLeod provided for themselves throughout the year. Pre-registration and chaperone required for ages 15 and under.

Run/Walk Clinics: Run/Walk Your Way to a 10K
Gain confidence and develop your skills faster, easier and injury free with our balanced training clinics designed by professional coaches. Run/walk with others like you to keep motivated and moving toward the finish line. Includes registration for Mullet Haul 5/10K.
3 courses available at 3 different parks. Dates range from Feb. 8 - March 31.

Intermediate Climbing: Training for Climbing
Learn valuable training techniques and strategies from Team Charleston coaches. We will provide you with the tools to improve your climbing on and off the wall. Participants will receive a month-long training plan. Pre-registration required.

Intermediate Climbing: On the Sharp End: Intro to Lead Climbing
This course covers the intricacies of lead climbing, from clipping quick-draws correctly to safe belaying, efficient energy conservation to how to safely take a lead fall. Strong emphasis is placed on efficiency and risk management. We recommended participants be comfortable climbing 5.8 on top rope before taking this class. Pre-registration required.

Youth Step Dance Team
Participants will learn fundamental techniques of this percussive form of dance in which the entire body is used to produce rhythms and sounds through a mixture of footsteps, spoken word, and hand claps. Learn and practice choreographed dances, body positioning, and hand movements, with the potential to perform at local events and showcases. Pre-registration required.

Coastal Navigation Clinics: Coastal Navigation: Level 1
This course introduces you to all aspects of coastal navigation. The basics of maps and charts, compasses, aids to navigation, declination/variation, and rules of the nautical road will be covered. Pre-registration required.

Coastal Navigation Clinics: Coastal Navigation: Level 2
Learn more advanced navigational skills such as dead reckoning, range lines, fixes, following bearings, triangulation, and compensating for the current. Level 1 Coastal Navigation skills are a pre-requisite. Pre-registration required.

Canoeing At Caw Caw: Habitat to Heritage
Travel back to the age of rice with this interpretive canoe trip. Paddle through rice fields and canals that now serve as one of the richest wildlife habitats in the Lowcountry. Registered chaperone required for ages 15 and under. Pre-registration required.

Roundtable Discussions at McLeod: Labor, Abundance, and Resistance
Staff here immerse themselves in learning about generations who adjusted to the fitful transition to freedom, justice, and equality. Join them in conversations that delve into the latest research conducted at the site. People labored to produce abundance for others while resisting slavery and its Jim Crow legacy. Their resistance was expressed in a variety of ways including the development of Gullah culture. Pre-registration required.

Intermediate Climbing: Climbing Self Rescue
Learn valuable rescue skills for your next rock-climbing trip. Rescue theories, belay escapes, and counter balance ascents will be covered. Participants should have a current CCPRC Belay Card. Pre-registration required.

Wilderness First Responder
Learn to deal with medical emergencies when help is miles away and dialing 911 is not an option. Wilderness Medical Associates will prepare you for emergencies that involve prolonged patient care, severe environments, and improvised gear. WFR is considered the definitive medical training course for outdoor professionals and enthusiasts. Minimum enrollment required by Jan 26.

Walk and Restore
Restorative yoga professionals lead participants along short walking loops, stopping intermittently to stretch, relax, and practice restorative yoga to build strength, flexibility, balance. Register for six or more classes for a discount. Coupon code: FITMULTI
