Failure: A Love Story travels back in time to the 1920’s in a fantastical tale that chronicles the lives and loves of the Fail sisters. From a famous clock making family, these gals are doomed by Father Time. Even so, they’ll march boldly to their tragic ends with their adopted brother, a python,
two parakeets, personified wall clocks, and a peach of a man named Mortimer. Come along and explore the beauty of living in what was the most amazing, single, final, year of their lives.

PURE Theatre continues its 13th season with the regional
premier of Failure: A Love Story by Philip Dawkins, directed by Rodney Lee Rogers.

This critically acclaimed play opens Friday November 6, 2015 and runs through November 28, 2015 and marks the beginning of yet another unique collaboration between two of Charleston’s leading, contemporary arts organizations: PURE Theatre and the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art.

Failure: A Love Story will join the adventuresome minds of PURE co-Founder and Failure director Rodney Lee Rogers and HICA presenting artist Susan Klein in a first of its kind collaboration in which an exhibiting Halsey artist designs the set of a PURE Theatre production.

PURE will offer Pay-What-You-Will performances on Thursday November 5, 2015 and Wednesday November 11, 2015 at 7:30pm. The Halsey Post-Show Talkback is Thursday, November 12, 2015. This talkback engages the audience in a dialogue surrounding all aspects of the play and is an opportunity to gain further insight into the Halsey/PURE collaboration. The talkback will be led by Dramaturges Haydn Haring and Rachel Feldman and will include discussion with the director, Rodney Lee Rogers, the set designer, Susan Klein, the playwright, Philip Dawkins, and the cast.

All evening shows are at 7:30pm with two Saturday matinees November 21 and 28 at 3:00pm. Advance purchases are strongly recommended.
