Charleston Symphony Orchestra

The Charleston Symphony Orchestra conducted by their outstanding maestro, Ken Lam, will perform a full masterworks style concert on Kiawah on Saturday, November 5 at 5:00 pm at East Beach Conference Center. No tickets will be required and the venue holds 500. The CSO, as it's known, is "A World Class Orchestra for a World Class City." They will bring 60 outstanding musicians to fill the stage and the hall with gorgeous symphonic music. Normally based at the new Gaillard Center in downtown Charleston and playing at least 20 concerts there each year, we are very fortunate to have them come out to us for this performance. The program includes The Battered Bride Overture by Smetana, concertino for English Horn and Orchestra by Wolf-Ferrari, the Egmont Overture by Beethoven, the Carnival Overture by Dvorak, and the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 in D minor by Liszt. Last year was the first time the concert was played at East Beach Conference Center instead of under a tent at Freshfields, and the acoustics, lighting, and staging will have all been enhanced for your added pleasure. This concert follows the Symphony Tour of Homes, a Charleston Symphony Orchestra League fundraiser for the CSO, for which tickets are required.
