For more than 20 years, this three-day culinary celebration of Lowcountry cuisine has been named one of the "Top 20 events in the Southeast" by Southeastern Tourism Society.
The events for the 2013 Southern Living Taste of Charleston include:
Taste: Sweet & Southern on Shem Creek, will be held on Friday, September 27 at the Cottage on the Creek on Shem Creek. This event will be a singer/songwriter showcase while guests enjoy some delicious Southern fare from Charleston caterers.
Taste: Iron Chef Competition will be held on Saturday, September 28 at the Culinary Institute of Charleston's Palmer Campus in downtown Charleston. This event will showcase some of the best local chefs in a heated head-to-head battle in the Institute's state-of-the-art amphitheater kitchen.
Taste of Charleston Dine Around will take place on Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28 at a variety of participating restaurants around the Lowcountry. The dine around will include a prix fix menu and special beer pairing menu.
Southern Living Taste of Charleston (Main Event) will be held on Sunday, September 30 at Historic Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant. The event will showcase a sampling of local cuisine from more than 50 of Charleston's finest restaurants as well as live music, waiter's wine race, children's area, beer garden and Southern Living exhibition area.
